Exploring Comics Connections on the Net

To practice what I preach, I'm starting to use the Internet to network in the world of comics creators. This blog, of course, is part of that effort. In addition, I've just carved out a piece of Comicspace.com for Comics Career.

I'm looking to make contacts with new friends. Plus, I've already come across two old Comics Career contributors, John Holland and Charles Novinskie. I've reached out to "befriend" them, but haven't made contact yet by email. John and Charlie both contributed numerous articles to CCN and made my life much, much easier. As an editor, it's great to know that you can count on solid, informative, entertaining content to arrive month after month!

John and I were briefly in touch a few years ago, but haven't communicated in detail since Hurricane Katrina ravaged his home in Louisiana.

I'm in touch with some CCN contributors. Like I mentioned in a previous post, Rob Davis, Mark Runyan, and Ande Parks are still very much in my circle. Plus, I ran into David Campiti at the 2006 WizardWorld Chicago and caught up on old times.

There are other CCN contributors I'd love to reconnect with. Charles Marshall was one of those good-as-gold regular columnists and Al Bigley was easily the most prolific CCN cover and spot illustration artist for the mag.

I refuse to focus exclusively on the past, though. I'm looking for the new connections that will make 2008 great. Take a moment, please, and post a comment on the blog or make a connection with me through my Comicspace.com page.
